Toyota Sparky
The Islander range of Minivans is heavily based on the 1999 to 2006 model Suzuki Carry.
This is a good thing ! The Suzuki Carry is a brilliant little van and perfect for use in the Channel Islands.
Over the past 11 years of trading the Suzuki Carry has been one of our biggest sellers. When we found out it was being
discontinued we knew the Channel Islands needed something to replace it in the coming years.
The Suzuki Carry was originally designed for use in Japanese cities and called the Suzuki Everylandy. The model soon found its way
on to the UK market, but as a panel van only. Sales in the UK were "steady" but never really set the world alight. In the end both
the UK and Japanese variants, along with the Daihatsu and Toyota equivalents (Extol / Atrai 7 / Sparky) were discontinued.
At present these types of van can only be bought secondhand.
That however is about to all change !
The Channel Islands now has its own range of Minivans, perfectly designed and built for use on our small roads.

Comparison to the previous market leading minivans.
Above is the 1999 to 2006 Suzuki Carry.
A brilliant, ultra reliable van, that unfortunately
has now been discontinued. Still available
to buy, but secondhand only.
Brand new Islander Cargo, based on the
Suzuki Carry (on the left), using the same
engines / gearboxes / running gear, but with
a slightly restyled bodyshape and interior.
Old Suzuki Carry Model
New Islander Cargo Model
As you can see, there really isn't much to choose between the old Suzuki Carry and the brand new 2011 Islander range.
The Islander range has a lower floor and a slightly higher roof line, making it easier to load goods into the back, whilst at the
same time giving you increased load area. The differences are minimal, but there is more room in the Islander range,
which can only be a good thing in our opinion.
Comparisan Morph
The Islander range of vehicles use a 1300cc EFI engine, the same engine that has been used to such
good effect in the Suzuki Carry range. They are fully Euro IV emmission compliant, with Euro 5 models coming soon.
These 3, 7 seater MPV models can only be
purchased secondhand - 1999 to 2005 and
are only available direct from Japan as an
import. Current exchange rates make these
vehicles very expensive for what they are.
£6,000+ for a 2001 model. (10 years old)
The brand new 2011 Islander MPV range is
available for an incredible price, compared to
what is available from Japan. The current
exchange rate in to China plays a massive
part in keeping the prices low.

Our islander range can also be bought as a people carrier and thus is a direct new replacement for the Daihatsu Atrai 7,
Toyota Sparky and Suzuki Everylandy that many of you wll be familiar with. We have sold 100's of these small mini MPV's
but alot of people are put off by their age, so it's now possible to buy a brand new mini people carrier, the Islander MPV.
All the Islander range of vehicles are fully type approved for use on European / UK / Channel Island roads.
These vans are currently being sold across Europe, in Germany, Sweden, Croatia as well as worldwide,
in China, USA, Austrailia and New Zealand to name but a few.
With 2009 sales topping 240,000 vehicles, the aim for 2010 is to sell over 300,000 in total.
