Our auction site will give you an idea of the vehicles that are available in Japan. Here you will find up to 150,000 vehicles each week for sale.
Cars, mini vans, sports cars, trucks, people carriers, 4x4's etc.

The choice is huge. If you're looking for something unique this is the place!
STEP 1 - DECIDING WHAT YOU WANT
We will help you draw up a detailed specification of your new vehicle, including all the optional extras, your maximum budget and mileage you wish us to work to.

Once your budget has been agreed we will not go over your budget. If the final bill does come out above your agreed budget, then the extra cash needed comes directly out of our proffit margin we are making on your car. You will not be asked for any extra funds to make up and shortfalls.

However - If we do make any savings at auction, these savings will be passed directly onto you, the customer, meaning you will pay under your budget.
STEP 2 - SPECIFY YOUR NEW VEHICLE
For all Japanese special orders we require a 25% deposit when the order is placed. Up to the point where we actually purchase your car in Japan, your deposit is fully refundable. We have access to 150,000+ cars each week in Japan, and considerable effort is taken by us to find exactly the right car for you. This process may take several days or weeks. On occasion we may even be able to find the right car for you the same day you placed the order. Either way, the deposit shows your commitment to the whole process and reduces wasted effort on our part.
STEP 3 - ORDERING WITH BLUCHIP
Your order will initially be placed with our staff in Japan. We will search daily for vehicles that match the specification you require.

Once a match has been found at auction we will email you all the details on the vehicle.
We will also call you to discuss the vehicle in full before proceeding to bid at auction.

Below is an example of the data you will receive from us via email.
Front / Rear photo's and the all important auction grading sheet.
STEP 5 - JAPANESE AUCTIONS
STEP 4 - JAPANESE AUCTION AND INSPECTION
As soon as we have purchased your car in Japan, we will be able to supply you with all the vehicle's details, and supply you with more high resolution photos. At this point we will require an immediate payment of a further 50% of the value of the car.
STEP 6 - VEHICLE PURCHASE
As the boats from Japan do not dock in any ports that come direct to Guernsey we have to have the cars collected from ports around the UK, such as Liverpool, Southampton and Tilbury.

Our team of vehicle recovery experts have Quality Assurance Certification in the form of PAS 43 accreditation. They are also members of the Association of Vehicle Recovery Operators (AVRO).

STEP 7 - SHIPPING - JAPAN TO UK
Once we have your car in Guernsey we will undertake a further inspection and arrange to have it fully serviced as part of the agreed deal.

We have our own service centre in Guernsey and most of the parts we need come direct from Guernsey Motor Spares who keep all the service parts.

If needed we will also arrange for it to be professionally valeted.
STEP 10 - LOCAL INSPECTION / SERVICING / VALET
Once your car has been fully prepared and registered, you will be presented with your new car and invited to take it out for a test drive. On return from the test drive and when you are 100% happy with the car, - we will of course request the final payment of 25%. Your final payment will never exceed the final agreed 25%, but if we have made any savings along the way, these savings will be reflected in your last payment.

If you need finance at any stage please view our Finance section of this site.
STEP 11 - FINAL PAYMENT
Our reputation is everything to us, and we will do everything in our power to make sure that the car you ordered is in perfect condition when it is presented to you.

If you can find any major fault with the car we have supplied to you, on delivery (ie damaged engine / damaged body work / stolen / etc) we will in the first instance endeavour to repair the car and restore it back to pristine condition as part of the agreed price.

Our full money back guarantee does not extend to minor faults or matters out of our control.

All minor faults with the car will be dealt with accordingly.

We have in the past been ordered to give money back for the following reasons which are not applicable !

The car is too wide and does not fit through my new gateway !

The car is too high and my 8 year old child cannot get into it properly !

The car is the wrong shade of blue !

I need a 7 seater rather than a 5 seater now !

The car does not have remote central locking !

The car is limited to 112.5 miles per hour !

The windows are tinted !

We don't like the name of the dealer you are buying from it sounds
weird, so please cancel the order !

There is no wheel locking tool with the vehicle so i want a full refund !

As any normal person will understand, giving a full refund for the above such items is quite difficult and does worry us slightly !!!

We will advise you of the full spec, colour, mileage, condtion etc before you purchase, backed up with photo's from the auction, so items like the above cannot bring the money back guarantee into play. The money back guarantee is there for what we consider to be major problems only.

Everything can be fixed, but assuming there are major faults with the car and you are still not happy with the vehicle then we will refund your initial 25% deposit + your 50% middle payment and you can walk away from the deal, no questions asked, having lost nothing. The money back guarantee is applicable for 7 days after your initial purchase. We have imported over 1,000 vehicles and have never once been asked to legitimately give money back due to a major fault with our cars. This is testiment to the high quality cars we import and should give you 100% confidence in the cars that we supply.

However, it could be that your circumstances have changed or you have just changed your mind about the car. Some people have unfortunately lost their jobs, or simply can't afford to pay the final payment on the car.

In these circumstances we will be happy to assist you and help you sell your car on commission on our forecourt. Once the car has been sold we will then return the majority of your outlay to you.

STEP 12 - WHAT IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY ?
The details of all the vehicles are normally online line 24 hours before bidding starts, so you will have several hours to decide if you want to bid or not.

We need to know your maximum budget in advance - this budget is set when you place the order with us. We can advise you on the price we think a vehicle will sell for.

So for example, if your budget is £25,000 for a new sports car and the bidding goes up to £26,000, you will miss the car by £1,000 and we will have to wait for the next suitable car to come up at auction. However, if the car sells to us for £24,500, we will pass on the £500 saving we have made directly on to you. Bluchip will never bid above the agreed budget

We often get people who miss out on cars by £300 or £400 and then say "oh I would have gone a bit higher". Unfortunately as a car is sold every 8 seconds on average at the larger auctions we simply do not have enough time to be calling you up asking if you want to increase your bidding limit.

You need to give us your maximum budget in the first instance.

There are frequent vehicle shipping services between Japan and the UK. Boats leave Japan full of cars every couple of weeks and the voyage takes between 4 to 6 weeks to get to one of the UK ports that we use.
Some of the bigger boats can take over 6,000 cars onboard, more than 10 times the amount our own
North Beach car park car holds when full ! Here we can see the massive boat arriving at the port,
the bridge, the engine control room and the actual engines.
The boats moor up along side the quay and the cars are driven up the ramps and put on the correct deck once customs clearance has been arranged. The cars are also inspected for damage and a full report on the overall condition given before shipping.
The decks are vertically moveable (using a decklifter - above) so that the decks can be raised and
lowered to utilise as much space as possible. The internal ramps gain access to the higher decks.
All the low sports cars are put on one deck. Normal cars on the next deck People carriers on another deck.Higher 4x4's on their own deck, and finally large trucks on the bottom deck. Each time the decks are lowered down just aobve the highest vehicle on that particualr deck to save as much space as possible.

The cars are shipped on a metre cubed basis, so the higher and wider your car, the more you will pay to have it shipped. Typically it costs anywhere between £500 and £1,000 to get the cars from Japan to Guernsey, depending of course on their overall size.

We've been in this business for 10 years and are fortunate enough to have developed reliable and trusted business relationships with all the key people and businesses that will be used to get your car to Guernsey safe and sound.

If any damage does occure on route, Bluchip will of course have any major damage repaired as part of the agreed price.

Approximately 20,000km (12,000 miles) - delivery time is between 6 and 12 weeks.
THE 12,000 MILE JOURNEY !
THE PORT OF KOBE - JAPAN
The port of Kobe, where Simon's office is based can be seen above. Most of our cars are shipped from here.
These are THE ONLY people we trust with our / your cars. They are the best in the business.

The have moved 100's and 100's of our cars around the UK - they are totally professional and have never damaged any of our cars, unlike some firms who we used to use when we first started trading 10 years ago !

Once your car has been collected from the boat from Japan it will be transported on a car transporter down to Poole and booked on to the Commodore Clipper, destined for Guernsey.
STEP 8 - SHIPPING - UK TO GUERNSEY
All the customs duty, taxes and certification are sorted out by Bluchip and
our clearance agents in the UK.

We will also ensure that the car we have purchased for you does not have any VAT paid on it.

ALL JAPANESE CARS IMPORTED BY BLUCHIP ARE TOTALLY VAT FREE !

When your car arrives in Guernsey, we will go through the full registration process. We will weigh the vehicle, obtain the correct engine number using our endoscope (something which most importers fail to do correctly) and ensure the car is fully registered for use on Guernseys roads.

We will also order a new set of black and silver number plates and fit them to the vehicle. If you have a 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / Cherrished registration you would like put on the vehicle, please ensure we are aware of the number you want on your new vehicle before we order your new number plates.
STEP 9 - CUSTOMS CLEARANCE, VAT ISSUES, IMPORT DUTY, LOCAL REGISTRATION
